Dr. Don MacKenzie provides professional Biblical counseling services at Bible Baptist Church. His training includes BA and Bachelor of Theology degrees from Barrington College (RI), MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a DMin in Biblical Counseling from Luther Rice Seminary. He is also a Certified Counselor with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors.
Dr. Don has served local churches for 28 years as pastor and served as the Executive Director for MACBA (Mid-Atlantic Conservative Baptist Association) counseling pastors and churches for 15 years. He retired from that position in May, 2006 and has established a private counseling practice called Biblically Centered Counseling. He and his wife, Carol – who is also his partner in ministry – reside in Mount Joy, PA.
Biblical counseling is based on two Greek words: noutheteo or nouthesia and parakaleo or paraklesis. The first is directive and confrontational and the second stresses comforting, encouraging and supporting. Dr. Don seeks to confront and solve the root problem and encourage correct decisions and actions. His counseling includes but is not limited to premarital, marriage, parental and personal problems.
