The Community Classroom


The Community Classroom exists in Shiremanstown so that the BBC congregation can reach into the lives of our neighbors, meet some of their tangible needs, build friendships with these families, and allow them to see the love of Jesus demonstrated through our lives. 


The vision for a facility from which BBC could touch the lives of Shiremanstown community members has been on the hearts and minds of the congregation and leadership for many years. Planning for such a ministry began in the summer of 2015. In the fall of that year, the property adjacent to the church became available for sale. BBC enthusiastically raised the money necessary to purchase that lovely home, giving the Community Classroom a visible and convenient location in the center of the borough.  The Community Classroom is located next to the church at 205 West Main St. Shiremanstown.

Adult ESL


The Community Classroom offers English classes on all levels as well as a citizenship class.  


ESL classes will be held at throughout the school year. Classes meet at the church on Wednesday evenings, from 7:00-8:00 PM and at the Community Classroom, Monday-Thursday mornings.

More Information 

after school Program


The Community Classroom partners with Northside Elementary School and Elmwood Academy to offer an after school program to qualifying students in grades 1-5.  Students receive daily help with their homework, tutoring, outside games and activities, and weekly Bible lessons.  Enrollment in our After School Program is based on recommendations from these local schools.  If you are interested in learning more or in participating, please talk to your guidance counselor or email tccshiremanstown@gmail.com.

Life Recovery Group

Time: Every Wednesday, 6:30-8:00 PM

We believe anyone can benefit from a Life Recovery experience. We all have struggles in life; struggles with addictions, food, depression, anxiety, and relationships to name a few. But we approach recovery from different angles. Some want a formal recovery meeting with a traditional recovery experience. Others want a recovery experience in a small informal group, or in an existing group they are already comfortable with at their church. And some may prefer learning about recovery at their own pace before jumping into a group or meeting experience. This is the beauty of Life Recovery. Unlike other Christian recovery approaches that mandate how and where their recovery ministry can be employed, Life Recovery brings Christian recovery to you – right where you are.
